GIOVANNA TORRICO

Giovanna’s work with sequins is the result of years of collecting and preserving materials, which she has translated into contemporary jewelry.
Suspended on steel wire and combined with a range of metals, the sequins allow continuous movement while revealing their sculptural and aerial quality, they were last cut in the1930’s and are a precious and disappearing
resource.

This year’s work also includes horsehair pieces that experiment with tactility and tension inspired by the violin bow. Each collection is designed and hand crafted in her Oakland, CA studio featuring limited edition and one-of-a-kind pieces.
