CONTEMPORARY ART JEWELRY
TABOO STUDIO was established in the Gaslamp District in downtown San Diego in 1988 and is owned and managed by jewelers Jane Groover and Joanna Rhoades.
Each of the artists is known for his or her distinct style and use of materials. All work is handmade and is one-of-a-kind or of limited production. Collectors frequent Taboo Studio in search of new works by their favorite artists. Taboo Studio also designs and creates custom jewelry for clients utilizing their stones or gems from the gallery's collection.
Taboo Studio began as a gallery to display and sell original jewelry created by contemporary jewelers and metalsmiths. West Lewis St. in Mission Hills has been our current location for over two decades, and today Taboo Studio
represents over seventy-five artists who are locally, nationally and internationally recognized.

The gallery hosts four major exhibitions per year and is available for group receptions, tours and artist presentations.
