Artist Statement

My current work has been inspired by a long-standing delight in forms that are organic; pieces that dance and have movement. I find it interesting and playful to explore the involvement of activity within a small space, accomplished in this work by the marriage of metals in silver and gold, and creating high contrast in color value. The pieces are first inlayed, then die-formed and combined with forged pieces, adding chains for the delicate movement, achieving a sense of the baroque. A patina is then applied to develop the desired contrasts and changes in color.
